Where do we look for assurance? How do we know that we are saved? Tragically, many pulpits and theologies across America consistently preach the Christian and not the Christ. So, the problem that arises is that we can easily look internally at our actions as Christians for assurance. However, once we look inward, we will never have enough assurance, as the foundation of assurance shifts from Jesus to us. When we end up turning inward - focusing on our life, taking our spiritual temperature, assessing our accomplishments, and becoming fixated on navel-gazing, we become overtaken by what Martin Luther calls the Monster of Uncertainty. In episode #3, we will ask the question, "Is Your Salvation Certain?" with special attention to the age-old battle between imputed and infused righteousness.
